04 / TWO-STEP CAUTIONS

Know the risks.
Respect the limits.

Two-step places additional demands on your vehicle. Compatibility approval does not eliminate the risk of damage.

01 / INTENDED USE

Controlled motorsport only.

Use only in a controlled motorsport environment with a clear launch area. Do not activate on public roads, near spectators or in enclosed spaces. Keep people clear of the vehicle and exhaust.

02 / MECHANICAL STRESS

Components can be damaged.

Two-step and repeated launches can increase engine, turbocharger and drivetrain stress. Clutches, transmissions, differentials and driveshafts may be damaged or fail. Vehicle condition and setup matter.

03 / EXHAUST & FIRE

Heat is a serious risk.

Depending on the strategy, unburned fuel can ignite in the exhaust. Excess heat can damage the turbocharger, catalytic converters and exhaust components. Keep exhaust outlets away from people, dry grass, fuel and other flammable materials.

04 / ACTIVATION TIME

Keep activation brief.

Follow the activation and cooldown instructions supplied for your tune. Avoid prolonged limiter use and repeated back-to-back activations. There is no universal safe RPM or hold time for every setup.

05 / VEHICLE CONDITION

Stop when something is wrong.

Do not use two-step with a cold engine, known faults, leaks or overheating. Stop immediately for warning lights, abnormal noises, unexpected misfires or unusual temperatures, and have the cause checked before using it again.

06 / YOUR CONFIGURATION

Use the reviewed settings.

Have activation conditions, RPM and exhaust compatibility reviewed for your vehicle. Confirm how two-step interacts with any anti-lag or launch-control features. Follow the delivered instructions and the venue’s rules.

General technical references

Manufacturer guidance describes launch-control heat and driveline risks, and potential catalytic-converter damage from limiter use. These are general references, not confirmation of your vehicle’s compatibility or any affiliation with X58 Performance.

06 / A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

Before you
get started.

Is my vehicle compatible?

Compatibility depends on the vehicle, ECU program and software version. B48, B58 or S58 engine identification alone does not guarantee support. We confirm compatibility before requesting payment.

Can I use this with an existing custom tune?

Tell us about your current tune and tuning platform. We need to review the existing setup and file requirements before confirming whether two-step can be added. Do not send files until we confirm what is needed.

What information do I need to start?

Your email, full 17-character VIN, current tuning platform (MHD, bootmod3 or Others), and desired activation RPM. We may request ECU software details or existing tune information during compatibility review. No BIN upload is required in this form.

How will my tune be delivered?

We confirm the required files and delivery method after reviewing compatibility. After confirmation and payment, we prepare and deliver your tune. Delivery timing is discussed during the review.

What should I know about two-step use?

Two-step is intended for controlled motorsport use and can cause engine, turbocharger, exhaust or drivetrain damage. Prolonged activation adds heat and stress; catalytic converters may also be damaged. Follow the instructions supplied for your tune and read the full two-step cautions before use.
